An Update: April 2019

(As shared on my blog facebook page...)

Hello, you dear ones who still follow this blogger who hasn't blogged in ages.

I think about writing so very often but I have no idea where to start. A short update here feels like a much more manageable way to share. I'm doing well. It was discovered this past year that my SCAD heart attack was caused by a condition called fibromuscular dysplasia (my arteries are wonky which has and may continue to cause problems). It's been a journey accepting my new reality but I am so thankful for where I am today...I have a brand new perspective on life. I am thankful for every day. Our family is well. We are LOVING having my parents live with us in their own (attached) apartment. Their support and presence has been such a gift. Because of my health issues, we've stopped fostering. This was very difficult for me at first but our family feels complete with four wonderful children who span between learning to drive and learning to use the potty. We still garden a little and enjoy small projects but we also take advantage of our friends' CSA as slowing down a bit is good for me. We're still homeschooling but next year will include our eldest going to private school and our youngest spending a few days a week at a local preschool. When I read back over blog posts I realize that that woman doesn't exist anymore. This is both oddly unsettling and comforting. So much has transpired and while it has included trials it has also been full of so many joys and gifts. I can honestly say that while life is very different now, I would not choose to go back. God is with me and I rest secure in Him. Blessings to each of you as you navigate your own challenges and celebrations. You will always be dear to me.

Until next time and with love,
Jane Pin It

  1. It is wonderful to hear from you again!! Yes, God is good and I'm so thankful that the burden of my life is His to carry, not mine, even though many times that is much easier said than done. So happy that your health is improving and that you are embracing the new season of life that God has given you. I hope you will get back to posting more regularly. I always enjoy your thoughts. Jesus loves you dear lady!!! And He has a story for you to tell. Blessings from Missouri. WELCOME BACK!!!

  2. Wow, I just realized how long it had been since I had seen your posts. Glad to hear your family is adjusting to all the changes. Praying for you all! God bless you all with life and health and peace!

  3. Seeing your update in my inbox is like seeing an email from a friend! I'm glad things are going well for you. I have a copy of your cookbook and pray for your family every time I use it. Its recipes are a blessing to us.

  4. I'm glad you're ok and didn't fall off the face of the Earth! Sometimes life's challenges just remind you more of your blessings.

  5. Life is ever-changing as we go about living. We never forgot you. There is a preacher named Curry Blake out of Texas. He teaches Divine healing. I hope you will look him up on you tube. He has a whole series he teaches on how to heal the sick. He has a huge testimony as to how he found his way into teaching healing. He also has signs following. Jesus still heals. Be blessed.

  6. So good to hear from you again. You give me hope that changes can be good even when they are tough at the time. I hope to look back in a year and feel that the woman I was and the woman I am now are both great women.

  7. Dearest Jane,
I'm so happy to hear that you are doing well, and at least you know what caused the SCAD heart attack, though it doesn't sound like any fun at all to have fibromuscular dysplasia. I'm glad your life is taking a gentler pace, and that you're getting to enjoy your babies across such a broad age range. Thank you for the update, you are greatly missed!

  8. Happy to hear from you again! Following your journey.

  9. I still check here periodically in hopes you will post. After following you for so many years it is kind of like losing touch with a friend. I am glad you are taking care of yourself. How wonderful to have your parents living so close :). That will be so great for you and for your children! A lot has changed in my life too since I started following you. My oldest is in college and my youngest is now 4 and in preschool. And the four inbetween are now all going to public school. I often miss those days when I had all four of my big kids home. But adding the littles to our mix really stirred things up and we felt it was time to put everyone in school. Our farm is in need of a lot of care and I am not even sure we will have a garden this year. We are down to just chickens. But we are richly blessed. Thanks for the update. :)

Just a friendly reminder, if you know me personally please try to refrain from using my name. There are those who may try to locate me, break into my pantry and steal my pickled beets. Thanks:-).
