On a un-related note, this evening Jamey and I will take our kids to my sister's house where they will stay overnight and spend the day tomorrow, leaving Jamey and I alone for 24 hours (this has not happened for years and years and years).  Seeing as it's for my birthday, I'm getting to choose how we spend our time on Saturday.  I don't want to squander it!  So far the only definite thing on the list is a thorough bee inspection, some personal quiet time, and a walk.  But whatever we do, we'll be sticking close to home.

What would you do with 24 hours alone?  Would you get things done, grab a book, sleep?

Have a wonderful weekend, friends, whatever you're plans!
Love,
Jane

  1. Horray for catch-up time! This may sound very out-of-left-field, but I recommend that you both cook up a creative meal. Have you ever seen or heard of the Food Network show "Chopped?" Contestants are given a basket of random ingredients and have to whip up a dish/meal using all of the ingredients. Maybe you can each pull out 2 or 3 random ingredients from your garden/pantry/freezer/etc. and then come together, share your "findings" and cook up a fun meal together. Could produce some laughs, if nothing else! Just a fun idea for a way to make a meal at home a little more exciting. :) Enjoy your special time, and happy birthday!

  2. A "P.S." to the Chopped plan - optional (and more fun!) rule of NO cookbooks allowed! Goal is to get really creative as you create a meal out of what are (hopfully) unique ingredients. :)

  3. Now that our children are grown we get alone time regularly and miss those little footsteps around the house. Enjoy your time alone and God bless!

  4. Hmm, alone, I'm not sure. I'm used to having someone around all the time and it doesn't really stop me from doing what needs doing or what I want. So the only thing I can think of is spend some time on the computer because then I wouldn't be sharing it with any one else.

Just a friendly reminder, if you know me personally please try to refrain from using my name. There are those who may try to locate me, break into my pantry and steal my pickled beets. Thanks:-).
