Old Homestead Charm

I can quickly become bothered by the rusty roofs, loose boards, broken windows and missing doors of our old outbuildings.  But then.  Every once in awhile when I'm outside with my camera, I see the beauty and charm of it all and I'm once again at peace.

So today, I challenge you to look at your surroundings differently.  Look for the beauty and charm in the places it's often overlooked and feel the discontentment fade.

  4. I love your homestead 'charm'.
We live in such a different landscape...it's fun to see so much vegetation...
Lots of projects to work on here that sometimes you lose sight of it all.
Sagebrush really IS beautiful in its own way :)

  6. Great pictures...especially the ones with barn boards. In the house I grew up in, my parent's room was made entirely of old barn boards. Since then they have stripped them and given some to me. We have turned them into furniture and picture frames in our house. :)

  10. I love pulling up to your house and seeing the ivy covered walls. Great pics, especially the 4th one of the white door against the natural colored boards. Lovely, can totally picture your kiddos all lined up in front of that!

  11. Yes. Yes. Yes! I also have similar rusty roofs, broken windows, loose boards, etc. around me. When we take the time to see the beauty instead of the imperfection (or should I say, the beauty IN the imperfection) it makes the heart full. Your pictures here are amazing!

Just a friendly reminder, if you know me personally please try to refrain from using my name. There are those who may try to locate me, break into my pantry and steal my pickled beets. Thanks:-).
