My Favorite Kitchen Tool and a Giveaway!!

This giveaway has ended. The winners are Patty R. and Alison! Patty and Alison, please email me (thyhand123@gmail.com) with your address so I can have your blenders shipped to you:-).

**********************

I love-love-love-love-love my immersion blender. Besides the big three (oven, microwave and dishwasher), it's my very favorite kitchen tool. Oh? I've mentioned this before? I guess I have.
In the past, I've even suggested that you should add one to your Christmas list. Did you? Did you get one for Christmas? Well, if you didn't, do I have some news for you?!

The kind folks over at CSN Stores are giving two (2) of my readers their very own hand blender. Whoohooo! I am so excited to help give two of you your very own blenders, I can hardly stand it!

How To Enter

Take a field trip and check out the stools at www.allbarstools.com (one of CSN Store's many websites). Browse around and then come back and leave a comment telling me which item you would choose if you could have anything on that site. Only one entry per person. (You are welcome to comment anonymously- just make sure you leave an initial so I can identify you if you win.)

Sometime next Wednesday, January 27th, I will randomly draw two names and announce the winners.

Only residents of the U.S. and Canada are eligible to enter. To my dear readers in South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, the U.K. and elsewhere, I apologize profusely.

What You Are Entering to Win

A Hamilton Beach 2-speed Hand Blender (and storage case) with whisk and drink mixer attachments. (Even I don't have whisk and drink mixer attachments!) Click here for more information.

I've talked about how I use mine when I make carrot soup, tomato soup, pumpkin pasta, vegetable chowder and baby food. There are other ways to use it, too. I just haven't written about them. Yet.

What are you waiting for?! Go on over to www.allbarstools.com, browse around, come back and enter to win! Pin It

  1. You must be reading my MIND! A few days ago my nice kitchenaid blender broke. I have been wondering what I am going to do without a blender and have been thinking about looking into immersion blenders since hearing people talk about them a lot lately. I did go to the site and if I could have ANYTHING there I wanted, I would love the Oakland Living Five Piece Bar Set ($1631.41)! I hope all is well with you (and I hope I win!). Take care!

  2. Hey there, dear! Wouldn't want anyone to steal your pickled beets! :-)

Just seeing about winning that cool hand blender - my fav on the barstools site is the polywood nauticle 29.5" outdoor bar chair!

  3. I gave my immersion blender away to the kids school for making hot lunches, works great to make stewed tomatoes for mac n cheese! I would love to have one again! So here goes...I checked out the site and I love the Holsaq Bulldog 24"-30" Custom Bar Stool in Orange. It wouldn't match in my kitchen but I love bright colors!

  4. Yippee! What a cool giveaway!

My choice: The Hillsdale Delray 30-inch bar stool, though I think I'd like it in white.

  5. What a great giveaway! Thanks for hosting this one. :) I visited the barstool site and have been thinking about getting a high stool like one found there for my oldest who has a drafting table (they are tall) and is preparing to become an architect (he's in grade nine). I would choose a wood finish stool as it fits the decor in his room the best.

    Blessings,
    Camille

    Thanks,

  7. What a great give away. I liked the Howard Miller Ithaca bar stool, pretty traditional I know, like me. My picky girl doesn't like any chunks in her sauces. A hand blender sure beats my current technique of squishing everything with my pastry cutter, Ha! Really enjoy all the great recipes you share. Thanks for your generousity, Robin

  8. Oh my 'give a girl a fig' had the most beautiful soup & I just had to come and put my 2 cents in about those barstools to have a chance for my own IMMERSION BLENDER. Yum! I can't wait to blend up some veggie soup, I've posted before about my butternut squash soup, and now I use canned organic... quick 2 serving batch.
So... I love the bar height saddle barstools. I've been in the market to replace some wobbly one's at my counter. they just look so substantial. So un-wobbly.
Thanks for sharing a chance for something so cool! I've been thinking I needed one of these!

I would choose the Johnston Casuals 4-Score Backless Contemporary Barstool - 2018. I love the pewter finish with purple suede!

    Thanks. Carmen M.

  11. How timely! I just made a (very long) list of everything we’ll need to buy when the house is done and at the top was bar stools! So glad you posted a link to that site. I’m sure we’ll be revisiting it soon to drool over purchasing: Great American Barstools 24" Eco-Friendly Brick Red Saddle Stool - SS24-MP

They would match our wood stove!!

In the meantime, I’m crossing my fingers that I win an immersion blender, since that did not make the cut for the list… ;)

  12. Funny giveaway rules. Ha. OK, so I've actually bought from CSN before (ceiling fans) but your contest just reminded me to check them out for barstools for mom's new house (she wants me to give her suggestions). So...my choice is the Woodbridge Home Designs 29" barstool. :)

  24. I came over, because you signed up on my blog giveaway! What fun you are having!!!!!!!! I don't have a immersion blender, but it looks like it would be a wonderful addition to anyones kitchen! Maybe mine? smile!

If I where to choose a bar stool It would be the Winsome 24" Backless Swivel Counter Stool (Set of 2). Then I would make chair covers for them. Cute!

  25. I like the comment above: "the blender made me do it" - and would like to similarly plead for clemency. I've heard how wonderful they are for soups, and I've been thinking for years now that one would be useful for making apple butter.

Regarding bar stools, our apartment does not have any place that bar stools would fit (it has too much furniture wedged in already!), but the "Woodbridge Home Designs 5302 Series Stool in Walnut" is what I would go for anyway.

  26. I'm not much of a bar stool person but if I had to pick one I'd go with Carolina accents Avondale 24" Backless Swivel Counter Stool.

Now immersion blenders are another story altogether. I've always had in the back of my head that one of those would to nicely with my array of useful kitchen gadgets.

  28. If I could choose anything it would be the Stanley Portofino Ivory Buffet. However, it's definitely too big for my house or budget...but if we're just dreaming here...

Crossing my fingers for the hand blender since my son and I go veggie at Lent and I'm planning on preparing lots of yummy soups!

Love your site...it's blessed our family!

  34. Although I love the retro stools and a number of other styles, I would have to go with the Wave 7 University of Nebraska barstool. I would sent it to my good friend, Amy, who is a huge Nebraska fan. She was very generous to me during a time in my life when I really needed a good friend, and she would love the stool as a "thank you."

The blender is awesome, by the way! My old mixer smells like something is burning even before I turn it on!

  36. Hey - I have perused your site a little, but never commented. How cool to be able to give away the awesome blender! I have very modern taste at heart and loved the "Trica Hollywood Swivel" barstool. It is silver and blue and very modern! Anyway - hope you have a great day. I think you try to buy/grow locally, but I just have to pass on this tip...I tried using mashed avocado to replace half of the butter in a brownie recipe (not my idea) and it was delicious and much better for our health. take care- Andrea M.
